[It's been a fun...almost three weeks for Rikku. With no memories, but still stuck with her Al Bhed personality she's had quite a fun time. Exploring a forest, an ocean, and some ruins has kept her pretty busy, and a few things are starting to feel familiar to her.

Sort of.

Today she has proudly found a certain ball, that she's already started to be able to do tricks with. Though while kicking it into the air gets boring quickly, instead she starts shooting for trees...but that she fails at quite quickly. One kick even knocking her journal over. But no worries, anyone watching won't be bored for to long! It only takes a few more times to get it to hit the tree just the right way to come right back at her...

Of course she wasn't expecting it to come back like it did, but that doesn't stop it from hitting her square in the face. And then it becomes quite clear why some people use them as a weapon, because Rikku only manages a surprised squeak before she's on the ground. And the last thing the journal is going to get is 'THESE EVIL THINGS SHOULD COME WITH WARNINGS!'

Those around town just might spot Rikku on the ground, holding her face and kicking the air for a good few minutes. Because not only does her face hurt, but the headache is back! Or one can catch her walking through town, holding her nose, looking for ice, with an annoyed face that doesn't quite fit her.

Later that day though she'll turn on the voice function...nobody needs to see her with a bruised nose, but she can't hide the fact that she's pouting about all of this...]

I got my memory back...in a really bad way...but I remember just about everything now...I hope.

I'm gonna be looking for a few people...You know who you are!! [And if not, she'll still hunt you down.]

Yeah, it's an underwater sport. But the ball can also be used as a weapon.

Sport balls usually tend to be pretty dangerous even when not intentionally being used as a weapon... That's cool, though -- an underwater sport, I mean.

This kind can kill fiends. [Wait. There's another word people use.] Monsters. It is cool! To bad there's no way to play here.

[Upon hearing that, he blinks awkwardly at Rikku.]

So you're sure your nose isn't broken?

Of course I'm sure! [She would be crying, not just complaining.]

It'll just bruise.

That's good, that's good. [Skeptical. He still sounds skeptical.]

I guess now would be a good time to ask how you lost your memory. Do you know what happened?

...It's not good. [Part of her face might bruise too. That wouldd be horrible.]

Oh right...I got kidnapped!

[There's a moment of silence. Whether that's in condolences to her face bruising or for her response, it's not immediately clear.]

You mean, by the Malnosso? They experimented on you and you lost your memory?

[In retrospect, it was probably obvious, but he hadn't known her prior to her abduction.]

Uh-huh. But the only thing I remember is getting knocked out, everything being really, really fuzzy for a few weeks, and then waking up underwater.

[His voice is a little bland as he replies.]

Well, that's probably for the best. I don't think I'd want to have the memory of something possibly nightmarish happening while I'm caged somewhere.

[Not that it was much different from something like that happening in Luceti. Har har.]

I would rather remember everything, than have felt that drugged for so long.

[She's seen and done many creepy things...and having some kind of control is always nice.]

You think? A few weeks is a long time to remember being imprisoned.

[...Not that he had actual experience, but he'd seen people who would come back from these "kidnappings" totally messed up.]

Anyway, at least now you can be a little more sure of yourself and-- well, your hobbies and interests and such.

[He remembers that was something that had come up before.]

Yeah, but a little less drugged up would've been good...Or just asleep. Maybe...[SIGH] Not being there at all would've been best.

So I guess that means you can tell me about yourself-- you know, when your nose isn't being a problem.

[She would trade the nose for the forehead. At least that can be hidden.]

[He hums for a moment, trying to recall their last conversation. Considering how long it's been, he ends up shrugging.]

First thing that comes to mind is those blueprints you were talking about. Do you remember the significance of that?

Oh! Yeah. I've been building things since I was little, but not all of them had blueprints. So I guessed about how to put some things together, then drew a blueprint.

I do it here just to make sure I don't forget any important ones...it's just to bad I can't build any of them here.

[His brows lift up a bit at that.]

So you're a mechanic? An inventor?

I'm guessing you mean you can't make anything with a motor.

Yeah, sorta. That's not my current title though.

But yeah. As long as I have all the parts with it, and enough time.

"Not your current title"?

My friend was also an inventor. But she was more the hands-on type than the writing-blueprints type.

Back home I'm a sphere hunter. They're important things that can tell us about our worlds past. [She'll explain it now so he doesn't need to ask...hopefully.]

Well I'm good for both! But building is a lot more fun.

Sphere hunters. [It takes him a moment to imagine some kind of comparison that he would understand, especially with the use of "hunter."] Er ... so you find ancient artifacts for profit?

[Something about that kinda sounded shady.]

Mmm...not really for profit. We got in some trouble when we tried to give one back, but otherwise we keep them for ourselves. We also have Shinra the wiz-kid that can use the magic left in the spheres to do a lot of spiffy things!

But we're also going by 'Your friendly neighborhood Gullwings'. We multitask, and help the people people around Spira that need it.

So you somehow recycle the spheres. For profit.

[Well, he supposes archeologists couldn't do their work for free...]

Or maybe there's something here I'm missing. Do your people not know much about your own world or something?
