[It has already been snowing for a day before Rikku decided it would be interesting enough to go out and see. She really isn't a big fan of the cold. In fact, she would rather be back home in the desert, but it's pretty enough to make it okay to go outside.

She doesn't go far though, but she ends up seated on the ground, right in front of the fountain. For a while she's just playing with the snow, but she's a quick learner when it comes to making snowmen. But she just can't leave it there, she has to add ice to the mix...The end result is a snowman surrounded by a clear ball of ice neatly sitting on the edge of the fountain....and it's a fairly decent size.

Hopefully people like pretty ice things.

Later in the day, when she's back being nice and warm in her room]

I have a weird request. Would anybody be good at cutting holes in some clothes for my wings while I'm wearing them? It's sorta confusing to explain, but it would be very helpful, and I promise I will do something for you in return...since there's no money here. I just really don't want to have them binded again...that hurt.

[The words remind him of his purpose here and he nods at her, pulling a kunai out of his tunic.] I would like that.

[She gives that a sideways look. She doesn't even know what that is...] I was thinking scissors, but if you think that'll work better..

[He glanced at the kunai and shrugged.] I've always used these to cut things. Even my own hair when I was younger. I'd rather use something I'm familiar with. [He would hate it if he managed to hurt her.]

I won't argue with that. [She'll start with the hardest one then, her Samurai. And trying really hard not to bounce up and down in pain. It hurts.]

Just one request for this. Just cut the binding between my wings, I can fix the rest. [She already has a new roll of binding in her hand.]

[He remembers that one-its hard to forget. And he also remembers how much pain she had been in the first time, so he doesn't hesitate to move up behind her, hand roaming carefully over the material to make sure the cuts he made to the inner side of each wing before slowly pulling them through the opening made in the binding.]

[Rikku is pretty good at dealing with pain, but these wings hurt more than anything normal. So don't mind her biting her hand until he's done, since moving would only make it worse. Just tell her when you're done.]

[He moves back, eyeing the hole thoughtfully before smiling softly at the effort Rikku's making to stay still. He's far too used to watching people hide their pain, that its almost novel to see someone who displays it so easily.]

I'm done.

[She would hit him if she knew that's why he was smiling. But all she can do is rub her back a little. Maybe that should've been the last one, but she's not even going to mess with the bindings now. She's to wobbly.]

One down, three to go.

[Don't hit the Kazekage.]

Do you need to rest first?

[Then no smiling at her pain.]

Better to do it fast. [Just give her a few moments, and she'll be a white mage. Which would be more comfortable, but her wings are flat against her back, and they already hurt.]

[Having only seen it once, it was still rather interesting to watch the clothes change form without any more effort than her tapping her sphere.

But he agreed with her on time being essential if she was in pain, and promptly went to work cutting around the bulges of the wings in the gown, a feat easier this time around.]

Which one is this? Your white magic one?

[Well at least this one is less painful, but still not the most comfortable thing in the world. It's really going against her nature to just stay still.]

Correct! It's even warm enough to wear outside.

Finished. [And he took a step back again as he eyed his handy work. It looked far better than the last, but the material might be to credit for that.]

Is that what you intend to wear to build snow castles?

[And a sigh of relief. Much better. Still in pain, and would like this to be over with, but nothing is as bad as the first one. These stupid wings hurt ten times more than normal. No wonder you die if they get ripped out.]

I probably will from now on.

Did you have more, or would you like to sit down now? [He hadn't done anything to truly hurt his wings, except for attempting to put his rather heavy gourd on his back that first day-but that pain had been enough to know that it was a queasy sickening feeling, and he was rather impressed she was still standing.]

Two more! [Which she thinks she can handle, and up until she's in her alchemist suit, and notices tight. leather...which is almost as bad as the bindings. She even almost stumbles before decided that yep, sitting right down where she was standing is a pretty good idea. At least better than passing out.] Sitting down is good though! [And so is using a gun as a headrest.]

[This particular suit has his eyes widening a bit, material he's not familiar with, and a weapon he's certainly never seen before, but mostly because when he reaches out to examine the suit, she's not there anymore.

And he blinks as he finds her on the ground.

With a frown he kneels down behind her and tries to make quick work of cutting the holes for wings, but the material doesn't have as much as a give as the others and it takes him a few minutes longer than the others.]

Is that a weapon?

[She won't move until she's done. She doesn't even take too deep of breaths to keep it from tightning even more than it already was.]

Alchemy gun. Depending on what you put in it, the shot can do all sorts of damage...but without items, it's pretty harmless. [She even pulls the trigger. Thankfully nothing happens.]

This is pretty much what my desert clothes look like too.

[He pulls the wings through as she explains, gently brushing his fingers against abused bone and feathers.]

Gun? [And his head tilts to watch her finger pull the trigger curiously.]

The material is strange, it seems rather sturdy though.

[Oh that feels nice. If he keeps doing that, she's in no rush to do the last one, even if though it's probably the easiest.]

...You don't have guns in your world?

Other material doesn't survive to long in the desert if you're out a lot. It's a little hotter, but it works.

[Touch of any sort is a serious rarity and when she doesn't object or pull away, he continues with the action, nearly distracted by the weapon she's still leaning on, and the idea of trying out such material.]

No. I've never seen anything like that before. It's capable of a lot of damage?

[Well it's much nicer than having her wings bound under some clothes...and no girl will ever say no to any sort of massage.

She will stop using it as a headrest though, and move it so he can get a better look at it.] More than you might think. This one is special, and will pretty much shoot a bomb at anything. Though a normal gun only shoots small metal bullets that go fast enough to rip through somebody.

...They're a pretty mean weapon.

[His fingers freeze in his administrations and he stares a little warily at the weapon when she explains it can create bombs. It was a bomb that had knocked him unconscious, that had lead to his death...

No, it wasn't a very pleasant memory. And it was indeed a power that he had admiration and hate for.]

I see...something to be avoided.

Yeah, but I haven't fond any combinations that work with this one, so it's best used for wacking someone.

[That it was being used as a blunt instrument instead of instigating explosions actually had him relaxing a bit.]

Are they fairly common?
