[It has already been snowing for a day before Rikku decided it would be interesting enough to go out and see. She really isn't a big fan of the cold. In fact, she would rather be back home in the desert, but it's pretty enough to make it okay to go outside.

She doesn't go far though, but she ends up seated on the ground, right in front of the fountain. For a while she's just playing with the snow, but she's a quick learner when it comes to making snowmen. But she just can't leave it there, she has to add ice to the mix...The end result is a snowman surrounded by a clear ball of ice neatly sitting on the edge of the fountain....and it's a fairly decent size.

Hopefully people like pretty ice things.

Later in the day, when she's back being nice and warm in her room]

I have a weird request. Would anybody be good at cutting holes in some clothes for my wings while I'm wearing them? It's sorta confusing to explain, but it would be very helpful, and I promise I will do something for you in return...since there's no money here. I just really don't want to have them binded again...that hurt.

[Well, it won't really look like she lives there. She's used to sleeping in an open room, and keeps her stuff hidden.

She also really just didn't want to get bundled up, and go out today.]

[And its not too much later that a very bundled up Gaara is knocking on her door.]

[And a very not so bundled up Rikku will open the door. Yes, she makes sure it's nice and warm inside so she can stick her tongue out at the cold snow outside.]

[Well, doesn't she look warm? He might just give her a brief jealous look before he's quickly accepting her offer and stepping inside.]

I hope this weather doesn't plan on lasting long. [And he rubs his arms for a brief moment before he's slipping the large gourd of sand off his back so he can pull off his jacket.] Are you enjoying it?

[Well, he can be warm inside now, since she's closing the door.]

I think I heard someone say this is just the start of the cold weather. It'll be like this for a few months. [She actually needs to think about that...]
Well the snow is fun. I never got to play in the snow before here, but I won't be a happy camper until it's nice and warm again.

Months? [And if that doesn't cause a bit of a scowl, before he's shaking it off. He won't be here for months. He can't afford to be.]

How do you play in the snow? [Its new for him too, but then, so is "playing" in general.]

Yeah, I don't like it either. Going through different seasons isn't fair.

Well, you can make snow castles, snowmen, apparently very large bowling balls...though I still don't know what bowling is. There's snowball fights, and probably a bunch of other things.

[Its strange that comments like that seem to make him smile slightly, but that they share the same desert style upbringing makes her somewhat familiar in a place that is anything but.]

I've recently learned what sand castles are, I assume snow castles are the same? And you're able to make clones from the snow? [And he simply shakes his head at the bowling ball comment, he's no help there.]

[That makes her laugh. She didn't think about that.] They are a lot like sand castles! Only easier, and colder. But...clones?

[He didn't think snow could possibly be easier than sand-but perhaps that was just for him. Kirk, after all, had made a rather disappointing looking castle from the sand.]

Are there any built? [He'd like to see a decent version.]

Clones, replicas of people made for the purpose of battle without accruing injury. [Yep, snowmen.]

I made one. [You can tell it was a first try, but she was proud of it.] I can show you after you help me.

If you take the time to make it look like someone, yeah.

[The words remind him of his purpose here and he nods at her, pulling a kunai out of his tunic.] I would like that.

[She gives that a sideways look. She doesn't even know what that is...] I was thinking scissors, but if you think that'll work better..

[He glanced at the kunai and shrugged.] I've always used these to cut things. Even my own hair when I was younger. I'd rather use something I'm familiar with. [He would hate it if he managed to hurt her.]

I won't argue with that. [She'll start with the hardest one then, her Samurai. And trying really hard not to bounce up and down in pain. It hurts.]

Just one request for this. Just cut the binding between my wings, I can fix the rest. [She already has a new roll of binding in her hand.]

[He remembers that one-its hard to forget. And he also remembers how much pain she had been in the first time, so he doesn't hesitate to move up behind her, hand roaming carefully over the material to make sure the cuts he made to the inner side of each wing before slowly pulling them through the opening made in the binding.]

[Rikku is pretty good at dealing with pain, but these wings hurt more than anything normal. So don't mind her biting her hand until he's done, since moving would only make it worse. Just tell her when you're done.]

[He moves back, eyeing the hole thoughtfully before smiling softly at the effort Rikku's making to stay still. He's far too used to watching people hide their pain, that its almost novel to see someone who displays it so easily.]

I'm done.

[She would hit him if she knew that's why he was smiling. But all she can do is rub her back a little. Maybe that should've been the last one, but she's not even going to mess with the bindings now. She's to wobbly.]

Do you need to rest first?

[Then no smiling at her pain.]

Better to do it fast. [Just give her a few moments, and she'll be a white mage. Which would be more comfortable, but her wings are flat against her back, and they already hurt.]

[Having only seen it once, it was still rather interesting to watch the clothes change form without any more effort than her tapping her sphere.

But he agreed with her on time being essential if she was in pain, and promptly went to work cutting around the bulges of the wings in the gown, a feat easier this time around.]

Which one is this? Your white magic one?

[Well at least this one is less painful, but still not the most comfortable thing in the world. It's really going against her nature to just stay still.]

Correct! It's even warm enough to wear outside.
